# What is a targeted mailshot?

## A targeted mailshot is a powerful outbound tool to reach and capture the interest of our members meeting specific target criteria, by offering them educational content.

A targeted mailshot is an email sent to a group of recipients who match the demographic criteria you have defined. The criteria can include the following:

- Geographic region
- Company activity

The goal of a targeted mailshot is to communicate directly with your target customers and prospects and generate leads by offering a document to download, a webinar to register for, etc.
